THIS WEEK'S CRAVINGS Linky Party #23
The Theme is: "The Husband's Cook"
(I can't wait to see what all the husband's are up to in the kitchen?)
(I can't wait to see what all the husband's are up to in the kitchen?)
I had an awesome dinner, especially because I didn't have to cook it. Someone should have been taking pictures of me laughing at my husband. First, I should say that my husband rarely cooks in our home, my twins and I do all the cooking. He is great at heating up a casserole for us; the king of eating the left-overs and will take my son anywhere he wants to go for lunch; Taco Bell, In-n-Out Burger, you name it he will take him there for lunch (or dinner); he makes a great egg salad that the kids love and will BBQ anything I prepare. But, to his defense he is a hard working dad and awesome provider for our family, cooking however is not his thing.
We have been married just over 12 years now and the ONLY real meal my husband has ever cooked us is Spaghetti and it's pretty funny because he says "HIS SPAGHETTI IS THE BEST AND NO ONE CAN MAKE IT LIKE HIM". When this theme came up "Husband's Cook". I knew this was exactly what he was going to make; his Spaghetti. I've always wondered how he makes his Spaghetti, it has this very strong flavor (that the kids and I don't like, but we smile and eat it anyway) and we could never figure out why the flavor was sooooo strong. Well, now I know! I have his secret; all you need is a bottle of Prego and almost an entire bottle of Italian Seasoning.
On the day my husband was going to cook, it was his day off and he even went to the store to purchase the things he needed. With one of my daughters now eating gluten-free he called me a number of times asking me what she could have. I finally told him she had already ate dinner (while he was at the store; he kinda doesn't keep up with our schedule; he works alot and she was already at dance practice by the time he got home from the store; we usually eat dinner about 4pm on dance days) and so I told him not to worry about her (and I added DON'T FORGET a complete meal includes dessert). He bought me a half-gallon of my favorite ice cream; Mint Chocolate Chip (SWEET!) I was so giving him a bad time and loving every minute.
He arrived home with his bag full of goodies and got straight to work! I enjoyed sitting at the kitchen table taking lots of pictures of this hilarious moment.
And it just so happened that ALL the kids were gone for the evening so it ended up being a nice quite dinner just the two of us ( a very rare occasion).
My Husband's Spaghetti Recipe
homemade by Randy HudgensFavorite Pasta Noodles (mine is Angel Hair... and that's what he bought)
1 Jar of Prego Spaghetti Sauce
2 lbs of Hamburger Meat (he says the more meaty the better)
1/4 of a cup or more of Italian Seasoning (compared to my 1 tbps that I use, that's ALOT)
Make your favorite noodles. Brown hamburger meat on stove top, add to jar of sauce, pour in the seasoning and simmer for about 20 minutes. Make some garlic bread and a delicious salad and you've got a perfect meal made by my husband. I Love You Hunny!
and.... if I can... let me do a little SHOUT OUT.... to my husband....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE..... you have finally hit the "BIG 50"
We are just that much closer to retirement!
Have a HAPPY HAPPY 50th Birthday tomorrow!

Yay, Im excited to see what husbands make!
ReplyDeleteI love that he threw the noodle against the wall!
ReplyDeleteLove a good plate of spaghetti. Wish my husband would cook something other than a Tombstone or hot dog so I could link up!
ReplyDeleteAwww what a trooper your hubby is!! If I let my husband cook - i would starve - lol. I think if he lightened up on that Italian Seasoning...just a suggestion.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness...that is a LOT of seasoning! Haha! And I just love the noodle. :-)
ReplyDeleteYou are one lucky wife! The Spaghetti dinner looks delicious. As much as I wanted to participate in the linky party, I couldn't find anything that my hubby had cook lately. After we got married, I'm always the one who cook! LOL...
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm hosting a tea sampler GIVEAWAY on my blog. Please hop over to enter if you're interested. Have a wonderful day.

Spaghetti is one of my favorite foods! Happy Birthday to your husband!
ReplyDeleteWow, the husbands are cooking up some good stuff this week! Mine doesn't cook either, but luckily my birthday was last week and I got him to make dessert (Molten Chocolate Cakes) so I could blog it. Hope you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteMy husband is not a cook. Ramen and boxed mac & cheese is about the extent of his repertoire. You are a lucky gal!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get in on the party this week, but his sauce looks yummy. My hubby does the breakfast items. Guess I could have found an old post - but oh well.
ReplyDeleteJust have to say that your mosaic is fabulous! It really is gorgeous. That would be a fun one to print out.
Thanks for inviting me to add my link! I've added you link party to my list! Have a great day.
ReplyDeleteI'm actually going to make this. i like a lot of meat and a lot of seasoning in my spaghetti sauce too. and i love angel hair.
