Peppermint Hot Chocolate
"Gift in a Jar"
"Gift in a Jar"
I am kinda new at making gifts in a jar. Last year for the first time I made Cookies in a Jar and gave them away for my girls birthday party favors. Everyone loved them and they were fun to make. I would say the biggest trick is to make sure everything fits in the jar. This year for one of my Christmas goodies I found a wonderful recipe for Homemade Hot Chocolate. I will be giving away these cute little Peppermint Hot Chocolate Gifts in a Jar this year to friends & family.
I made these jars last night, then I made a second batch for myself. I dumped all the contents into a pan and actually made the Hot Chocolate, it was Peppermint'y and Delicious!

Peppermint Hot Chocolate "Gifts in a Jar"
found on Pinterest; recipe from My Recipes; adapted by me
1/4 cup powdered milk
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 cup miniature chocolate chips
1/8 cup crushed peppermint candy
Layer powdered milk, cocoa powder, sugar, salt, chocolate chips, and peppermint candy. Fill the peppermint candy up to the top and then put your lid on, tie with a bow and you have a perfect gift to neighbors, friends and family.
If you have a different size container, just keep the ratio of ingredients constant.
Here is the information for the tag to add to your gifts (you can copy/paste and print the tag below if you wish or make your own). "Mix the entire contents into a sauce pan and add in 1/3 cup hot water, cook and stir over medium heat until it boils. Add in 4 cups of milk and continuing stirring until hot, lastly add in 3/4 tsp vanilla just before finished. Serve with cool whip and a drizzle of caramel or chocolate."
